It is difficult to judge a saddle for purchase just by a picture, and you are better going to a tack shop or have a saddle fitter come out with a selection of saddles and have them on your horse.

Saddles are the item of tack that are most traded second-hand. A good saddle can cost many hundreds of dollars, and they hold their value well. However, a poorly fitting or poor quality saddle can damage your horse’s back, so never buy a saddle that doesn’t fit properly, no matter how cheap it is. It is more difficult to check second-hand saddles, as much of the structure is not visible.
