Which Music Software Should You Use
Regardless of whether you are trying to become famous and a well known star, or you just want to live out your dream quietly in the comfort of your own home, as a musician you will want to know that you are using the best equipment and software that you can get. We would all love one software that does everything that we need it to for ease of use however that just isn't the case anymore. To record music you will need various music software.
Different kinds of software will produce different results. Thanks to the usage of computers and how important they are to the music industry, the aspiring musicians in the world can really experiment and create great music.
It is a common misconception that one size will fit all - that one software will fulfill every music artists needs. If you are looking to record a song then chances are you will need several different software.
Firstly you will need software to make the backing track. Even if you are using instruments to record it yourself it will still need to be tweaked a little to get it sounding great.
The next stage will require another software, so you have the backing track, now you will need to edit it. The stage after that will require recording the vocals which will need another software. Then you will need to use the editing software again. And, then depending on what you wish to do with your song you may need writing or transcription software so you can give it to others.
Once you get a hang of the software you are using then this will not be so difficult, there are so many different kinds of music software out there that it can be confusing. Believe it or not computers still make the music process easy, well easier anyway!

Are there any websites or free programmes to convert a rhythm i type to music notation?
I'm doing music gcse coursework and I'm having trouble getting my composition into notation (I'm stuck on which note values to use etc) so are there any websites or free programmes I could use if I could type out the rhythm on my keys or use my mouse and it will convert it into the notes? I don't need to know where the notes go on the bar, just the value of them. I could do this at school, but I want to work on it at home.

Music creation at the touch of a button with Tabstrummer (Gizmag Emerging Technology Magazine)
Electronics enthusiast Miroslaw Sowa and programmer Vsevolod Zagainov - both
from Montreal, Canada - are currently busy putting the final touches on a new
button-based, guitar-shaped sound machine called the Tabstrummer. In the same
way that tablature notation has allowed players like me (who are unable to
read score) to learn new songs, this new MIDI instrument allows folks who'd
like to play a guitar, but for whatever reason can't, the opportunity to
easily create some chord-strumming music. The instrument allows chord shapes
to be assigned to clicky buttons on the short neck, which can then be recalled
and played as a song by simultaneously strumming or picking the virtual
strings... Continue Reading Music creation at the touch of a button with
