I am buying a Phonic Powerpod PA system, and on the Specs it says on channels 1-4 of 6 channels there is pad control, and a button to toggle it on and off, what is Pad Control? And Do you have any reviews of the Phonic Powerpod?
I went to the Musician's Friend website and took a look at the Phonic Powerpad. Looks like the Pad Control is for trimming down a 'hot' signal. Probably from a Egtr or Hi-Z mic or any other line level device.

PAD -25 Button
The PAD -25 button (located above the 1/4” Phone Jack of mono channels) is used to attenuate the input signal by 26 dB. This should only be pushed in when using line-level input devices.
Usually pads are used for hot, line level devices, and can be very useful getting the mix just right when combining various line level and mic level inputs. GL
