The C 414 XL II - AKG's Premium Condenser Microphone
The AKG C414XLII is a large-diaphragm, multi-pattern capacitor microphone that not only lives up to the proud C 414 reputation but enhances it. AKG have made some real technical and practical improvements with the C 414 XL II whilst still offering value for money.
The AKG C 414 XL II offers the user remarkable sensitivity, low background noise and extended dynamic range to make it capable of taking on the most difficult recording projects. The new C 414’s electronic circuitry has been re-engineered to extend the dynamic range to around 134dBA by maximising headroom and minimising self-noise (capped at a notable 6dBA). Even in a dense mix the The C 414 XL II will record vocals with clarity and depth. The C414 XLII has nine distinct pick-up patters to switch between including omni, narrow cardioid, cardioid, wide cardioid and figure-eight. Need help with home audio recording!?
Hi, please can someone help?
I am trying to record acoustic classical guitar at home directly into my laptop.
The problem is that my mic is so sensitive that it keeps on picking up background noises and humming that even I cant hear!
I have a very good microphone (AKG C2000b condenser mic) and a not too bad audio mixer (Alto Zephyr ZMX 52) and the software I use is either Audacity or if Im recording video with sound I will use adobe premiere elements 8.
I am fairly new to all this recording lark so is probably something very simple that Im doing wrong.
I have messed about with the different settings on the mixer e.g, gain, EQ etc but still having no joy.
Please someone help.
