The Secret Techniques In Acoustic Guitar Lessons
Have you ever wished that you were as great as the flawless guitarist you just saw in a gig? There is a general feeling that only a few people are born with the natural talent to play the guitar masterfully, but the opposite is actually true. With dedication, passion, and a dash of talent, you can surely develop your guitar skills and be on your way to becoming a gifted acoustic guitar player. To start with, you should know a few secret techniques in playing the guitar.
The guitar is a string instrument famous for its ability to play modern and mainstream music. You will find it invariably present in most musical performances. It also covers a wide variety of musical genres—from pop to blues to country music.
In engaging with acoustic guitar lessons, it is important that you have enough diligence and patience with the instrument. You cannot master the chords overnight. This is the main reason why you need to maintain focus and be persistent at all times in learning the chords. Not many people possess the necessary skills to be called a guitar expert, but there sure have been many who have attempted to become one. Many guitar students let themselves be satisfied with just learning three chords and five songs. So if you want to be among the best, you should never stop acquiring new guitar skills everyday.
Learning to sing is another technique you must develop while you are on your way of mastering the acoustic guitar lessons. The guitar is one of the greatest instruments to accompany singing and when you are accompanying a singer, you get to become a much more versatile guitarist. It takes practicing to a new level of fun and satisfaction. You will probably be not a great singer, but you don't have to worry about it as long as you can adequately sing along in tune with the guitar.
Listening by ear is a good training for you to become a successful guitarist. Relying on chords alone will oftentimes not be enough for you to learn a song, you have to be able to identify the tunes also so that you can strum along. But you have to understand though, that listening by ear is not an easy thing to do. This kind of skill needs a long-term practice.
Using the pick instead of your fingers will help you create clearer and crisper sound. Picks can also help you produce louder music during acoustic guitar lessons, which is essential if you are playing in front of a big crowd. Guitar picks have varied thickness that are used depending on the kind of genre or sound you want to produce. The thin plectra, you will learn, are usually utilized for a wider range of sound. It makes a click sound that emphasizes the start or attack on the strings. Thicker picks, however, produce brighter tones.
The last, but not the least, secret that you have to know is that better results are achieved if you genuinely love the instrument. Even if you continually practice, if you don’t have conviction with what you are doing, your effort will just turn futile. At first, you might just be curious about it. But if your lessons turn out to be interesting and fun, you might eventually develop a fondness for the instrument.
Bass guitar CASE and/or GIG BAG--- suggestions? Not too pricey, but decent. please read.?
I'm looking for a good BASS guitar gig bag or case. I want something that's around $50, but that is good quality. A lot of the ones that I've seen have little/no padding, or the stitching rips easily. Please give me ideas/suggestions/links for what would be good. The case is JUST AS IMPORTANT as the instrument, so I want to get it right the first time (otherwise both case and bass will get damaged/destroyed) THANK YOU!
I'm purchasing a Squire Vintage Modifed Precision Bass... so it will have to fit well...
Reviews on this case? It looks good for the price. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Road-Runner-Premium-Electric-Bass-Guitar-Gig-Bag?sku=541332
i've been searching on www.musiciansfriend.com and other sites. my local stores have pretty bad cases, no padding or way too expensive... i'm looking for specific suggestions/reviews please?
Gator and Musiciansfriend have decent models, if at moderately above $50, go to musiciansfriend.com and music123.com, and look at outpost/clearance first.
The Little Willies Let the 'Good Times' Roll on Sophomore CD (The Boot)
EMI
_The Little Willies may have begun as a fun side gig a decade ago for some
friends with a mutual passion for country music's rich heritage, but their
latest album, 'For the Good Times' reveals a level of country cred so deep
that it would put a lot of today's country hitmakers to shame by comparison. A
perfect example of what happens when sheer artistry and true friendship
collide, the Willies combine Norah Jones' and Richard Julian's vocal stylings
with Jim Campilongo's wizardry on guitar, Lee Alexander on bass, and Dan
Rieser on drums, and the end result is some mind-bogglingly great, retro-
country fun.
Those familiar with Norah's breathtakingly beautiful voice on her own pop/jazz
hits like 'Don't Know Why' and 'Come Away With Me,' (from the 10 million-
selling CD of the same name) will be blown away hearing her tackle tunes like
the quintessential Dolly hit 'Jolene,' the cagey, sexy 'Foul Owl on the Prowl'
(from the soundtrack to 'In The Heat of the Night,') or the achingly poignant
Kristofferson classic, 'For the Good Times' on the Little Willies' new CD, out
today (Jan. 10). The Boot sat down ...
